Welcome to Reception

We were so excited to have some snow on Thursday! We had to wrap up warm straight away and head outside for some snowy adventures!

We use Drawing Club to inspire a love of stories and adventure in all our pupils. 

Each week, we start with a new story, tale or animation and introduce some new vocabulary linked to it using actions to help the children remember. We then use our imaginations to create drawings and write magic codes using letters and numbers. This encourages a love of mark making & writing and we see so much progress in our pupils' communication and language as they tell us all about their drawings and their magic codes. 

We are extremely lucky to have Mrs Thompsett, our school's music teacher, come to teach us music every Monday morning. 

She brings the listening box and Rosie Rabbit and teaches us lots of skills such as listening, following instructions and self-regulation. We love our lessons with Mrs Thompsett. 

Each week, we visit the Nature Zone. We explore the area and look out for changes. We have loved noticing signs of Autumn this month! This is fantastic for children's independence, team work, their ability to assess risks and of course their imaginations.

We go on wonderful adventures every day in Discovery Time!

Our pupils can move between all three classrooms and our garden where they can visit Water World, the Builder's Yard, Cosy Kingdom, Mud City or Theatre Land.
